When I fell ill with a serious neurological disease a couple of years ago, there was every chance I would lose feeling in and even the use of my hands. Determined to prevent this from happening, I began knitting like a fiend, keeping my hands active and my mind occupied. I created the first evening bag for my mother, as a gift for Mother's Day. Crafted from beautiful and idiosyncratic wools and ribbon, hand felted and lined, it was a smash hit. Soon my other friends and family began asking for bags, and then their friends and family, and before long it grew into a business.

Each bag is completely custom-made, often lined in vintage fabrics, and created as a work of art. Women across the world help me hand-craft the bags, all working under fair trade conditions, and for each bag that is purchased we donate a dollar to The Neuropathy Association to help fund research for CIDP and other neurological illness.

Through my personal experience, I've come to appreciate the individual strengths and unique contribution each of us brings to life. With that in mind, I create items designed to reflect the most personal and cherished affections of their owners, rather than the mass-produced consistency of most accessories. People respond emotionally to the bags, and I love that. Each time one is sold I am proud that it's going off to take a special place in someone's life.

We offer an exciting line of evening bags and date bags as well as our "Originals" collection. We continue to dream and innovate daily, and never plan to stop. We also continue to offer completely custom bags for those customers who want to have me personally translate their design vision into a beautiful reality.
